Just a little taste of my Week! It's been a doozy!

What a week!  I know I haven't posted any this week, and I'm really missing it!  Just know, I have posted only it's been in my head! Haha!!

This is what has been dubbed, "Week of ......"  We have several things going on this week, and I am borderline overwhelmed.  I know, several of you have offered to help me, and I do appreciate it!  I'm just too much of a control freak!

To begin this week, Gary and I hit a deer Saturday night (technically not the beginning of the week, BUT...).  We happened to be in his almost brand new truck (like he just got it a couple of months ago), and we did quite a bit of damage.  The deer, fortunately died a quick and painless death.  The truck, however, can be repaired.  We chose to allow the repair shop to have his truck on Monday.  What we didn't think about was that it is also WEDDING week, and we had tables to move, and things to do; as well as, AIMIE LEAVING week, which meant we were down to 1 vehicle, and take Daddy and Momma to the dr in St Louis week!  We did do some vehicle arranging to get most of this accomplished, however, since I don't HAVE to be anywhere, I get to stay home! Not a stay at home type person, esp. when I have no choice! Haha!

As I mentioned in the previous paragraph, it is also WEDDING week!  So very excited to become a new mother again! There are a LOT of last minute details for a wedding, that I had totally forgotten about!  I'm sure I'll forget more! Ha!  It's all good, and I cannot wait for the big day!!!

Then there's Aimie leaving! Ugh!  I wish she was little again, but it isn't so!  She actually left me this morning. (Sad face) She has called me once (asking about light bulbs), texted me several times, and made me feel needed.  (Happy face)

So, now you know why I didn't Muse on Monday, have any Tuesday top Two's; you may be wondering what I wore Wednesday, and there will be no time to post Friday's favorites, BUT it will be a great weekend, I'll have a new baby girl, and then we will start next week!

Whew!  I'm worn out!
Sharon

On a bright note, Gary and I celebrated 26 years together Wednesday!  I thank God every day for putting us together!  Love this man!

Friday Favorites

Momfessionals
It's Friday Favorites time!!  Linking up with Erika at A Little Bit of Everything, her friends Andrea at Momfessionals, and their friend Narci at Grace and Love Blog to share my favorites!

1.  Got the puzzle from heck back from Hobby Lobby framers.  Can we just say, Gorgeous?!!!  We chose to hang it in the basement where you can see it from the top of the stairs.

2.  Downy Unstoppables.  Words just cannot describe the awesome scent this leaves on my clothes.  I never have been a big fabric softener kind of person, but these allow me to put as much or as little as I want, and it still smells fabulous!!!
Downy Unstopables is giving out 12,000 samples per week!

3.  Back to School Sales!  I'm a school supply freak!  My advice to parents:  buy several while the price is so low!!  You will always use them at some point!
Don’t forget staples will have Back to School Supplies online this ...

4.  Lime Green Polka Dots!  My "theme" for my classroom this year! Can't wait to hang the curtains my BFF co-teacher made for me!!

5.  This girl!  She's my baby girl, all grown up!  She's leaving me for school Tuesday.  Can you tell I've been dwelling on this! Ha!

Happy Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

It's Thoughts on Thursday!!

Normally I would be so excited that it is almost Friday, BUT these days are going by WAY TOO FAST! Ha!  Everything is happening too fast.  I'm feeling just a wee bit overwhelmed.  (Boo!)

My Aunt Lucy told my future DIL, Ashley, not to sweat the small stuff.  I, am trying to do that as well, only mine isn't only wedding related, but school related, life related, and my nest not having my chicks in it almost every night related.

Don't sweat the small stuff...

To relax, and work on something I want to do, I decided to learn to knit.  Go ahead, laugh, tell your old lady jokes, I DON'T CARE! Ha!  A friend of mine opened a yarn shop in Cape, and when she made the announcement, I asked if she would give lessons.  My first lesson was last Wednesday.  I will admit I got very frustrated with myself, but after I talked myself down, and told myself this was supposed to be relaxing, everything just came together!  I LOVE IT!!  For my next lesson, I will learn how to end the project, and take it off the needles!  I will then start another real project!!!  GO ME!!

This is the start (well, after the original got frogged!)

This is stage 2

Stage 3.  There is a current stage, but I'm lazy and I don't want to not able to snap a pic of it! Ha!

The Wedding is in just a little over a week!  ARRGGGHHHH!!!  Am I ready?  I feel awfully calm about this!  What if?  Yes, those questions have gone around in my head, but really I do feel good about this!  I actually thought about sending out a birth announcement!  I'm very excited to have this sweet girl added to my family.  I really hope she can look at me and love me the same way I love my MIL!  I know I will never be the MIL Betty (Gary's momma) is, but oh, I hope I can be half as good!  I really hope I have conveyed to Ashley that she is my daughter, not just by marriage!

Ok, I've rambled enough.  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Thursday!

By the way, I'm working in my classroom tomorrow!  WooHoo!  Pics to come at a later date!

What I Wore this Week!

Sad news folks!  I don't have many pictures to post!  It's been a crazy, can't make my mind work right, overwhelming kind of week!  I did manage to snap a few one picture on our whirlwind TX trip (I thought of several of you TX bloggers - Erika's friends - as we passed the exit for McKinney!!!); however, I have mainly been in comfy clothes (what else, but tees and shorts)!

Wednesday evening:  Going to my knitting class (a whole other post you will see soon!)

J Crew cardigan with a white Target long and lean tank and my St John's Bay black dress shorts.  Wore my black Converse tennis shoes.

So, many of you know that my baby girl, Aimie, is my "fashion consultant".  She was gone when I was getting ready, and I couldn't decide if I wanted to wear my white no show socks (that show) or no socks.  She promptly texted me back and said, "NO SOCKS"!  OK, I wore no socks, and my feet hurt!  These shoes have those weird seams that rub!!!  I'm thinking maybe my white ones won't?  Oh well, at least I got to purchase two new pairs of flips at Old Navy! Ha!

This was my "meeting people from work for dinner" out fit.  Gary had said to dress kinda casual, because he and his co-worker would be coming straight from work, and his co-worker's wife had been running errands all day, so she would be casual too.  I did good!  The shirt is from Old Navy (got it when I got my new flips), my denim Buckle capris, and my nude flats.  Photo courtesy of the hubs!

It won't be long until school starts and you get a view of what I will wear every day!   Kinda excited, but why oh why can't my school day begin at 10:00 am????

Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy reading!

Tuesdays Top Two!

Yes, it's Tuesday.  Yes, it's barely Tuesday!  It's another one of those sleepless nights!  Yawn!  I really despise these things, because it's nights like this that I start wishing school would start so I would have a routine!  Ha!  Who am I kidding?  I have sleepless nights like this when I am in school!  Those just make for really long days!

This is my usual thought every day on the weekend....when I wake up at 6am for no reason at all....

Ok, time for the top two.  What shall they be?  At 1:00 am, who knows!!! Ha!

1.  Runts candy!  This became a favorite of mine as we drove to Ft. Worth!  I have always liked them, but for some odd reason, I craved them on this trip!  Gary and I fought over shared the banana shapes - even though there weren't many! Boo!

Runts 5Lb Bag

2.  Cucumbers and tomatoes fresh from the garden.  Even though our tomatoes are NOT what we typically get (they were labeled that, but we bought them from a different place than we normally do, and well, let's just say we learned our lesson the hard way!) they are still good.   The cucumber seeds were also bought at the same place as the tomato plants (never again!) and they are doing ok.  The thing is, there are different varieties of cukes in the plants!  Weird!

I know, really random favorites, but I hope you enjoyed them!  Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Monday's Musings!

Whew!  Since last Wednesday when I blogged, I have been from Advance to St. Louis, then on to Fort Worth, where we rested for a day, and back home to Advance.  We got home Saturday!  That was a whirlwind trip!!!  Why did we go?  For the hubs to see if their sister plant was having the same issues his was!  Ok by me - it was a VACATION!!!!

This is the logo for our new business.  Gary is loving every minute of his job, for which I am truly thankful!  It's a struggle, and like a new baby, but I wouldn't change that man's happiness for the world!

Another random thought, I am going to be a Mother in Law in two weeks!!! Holy Wow!  I'm not old enough! Ha!  I actually am very excited to be adding this sweet girl to my family.  My baby boy couldn't have chosen better!  She makes him happy, and that's what a mother wants for her babies!!!

Finally, my nest is going to be empty again. (Insert very sad face)  My sweet baby girl is going back to school.  She leaves me in a week (she'll be home for the wedding).   I have gotten so used to having her here to sass me talk to me, watch our shows together, and even just be here with me.  It's going to be withdrawal again!  She's going to have a blast her Sophomore year (final year at JeffCo), and you will hear lots about her Volleyball season!   Prayers for me, as I adapt, yet again, to this place called, The Empty Nest!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Monday!  Not too many more days until school starts! Blech!

What I Wore this Week! Plus One Day!

If you have been following along with my What I Wore posts, you know that I have been living in tee shirts and shorts.  I do, however, have the occasional, "Look!  I have other clothes too!" moments!  It has really been great having Aimie home to tell me when I look bad help me with my clothing choices.  I think she may be a little impressed, because she hasn't had to veto anything too much lately!

Ok, here we go!  Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.

This was the Sunday after the 4th.  I was tired, crabby, and wanted comfort.  Plus, I was singing a new song at church (I LOVED IT!) and needed something that breathed, cause I sweat like nobody's business when I get up in front of everybody to sing! Ha!  Wore my white Old Navy flips with this!  The tank is from I don't remember - haha!, the dress is from Old Navy, last year.

This is what I wore to my niece, Julia's, shower.  I had on my black long, and lean tank from Target, a yellow 3/4 length sleeve light cotton top, with my pink crops from I don't remember, but I got them this year!  The sandals are the ones my friend Erika turned me on to!  Love them.  They are so comfortable that I believe I could teach in them all day and my feet not hurt!!  We shall soon find out!  Photo courtesy of Aimie (she still calls me a dork when I ask her to take the pics - all done out of love, I might add)!

This is what I wore to Gary's mom's house for breakfast Sunday morning, with the intent to wear it to church - BUT church didn't happen!  We typically have Sunday morning breakfast with Gary's mom, then head to church, and after church, we have lunch with my parents.  Well, Sunday morning had all 5 of Betty's boys at her house for breakfast, so we visited and had a really great time!  I think God approved!  I wore my black capris, with a floral top over a black tank.  Shoes were my black patent sandals.  Photo courtesy of Gary, who had to get the hill they just cleared in the background! Ha!!

This was my, dentist appointment, run around like a crazy person without a clue, outfit!  My new favorite boyfriend shorts from the Loft, and a v-neck tee from Old Navy.  I wore the muddy look Toms because I thought we might get a rain shower and I didn't want to ruin a good pair of shoes.  Still trying to figure out how to get that dang mud out of those shoes!!!!  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!  (Side note:  Can you tell I've lost 8 lbs??  Yes, I just need a little boost, so I have to ask!)  Photo courtesy of Gary, who at this point was like, let's just take this picture! Ha!

There you have it folks!  Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Faves on the 15th!

Linking up today with Erika  and her friend Ashley for my faves on the 15th!  So glad it coincided with a Tuesday's Top Two! Ha!

Random faves today:

1.  That feeling you have AFTER your hygienist cleans your teeth! AH, I love it!

 October: National Dental Hygiene Month

2.  This girl, right here!  She is my sunshine, and I love her to the moon and beyond!  She's only home from school for a few more weeks, (insert frowny, sad face here), but I will sure enjoy her while she's here!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Tuesday!

Monday's Musings: Random thoughts on this rainy day!

I feel like it's crunch time folks!  Not too many more days before school starts, and I feel as if I haven't accomplished a thing!  I have lots of started projects, but not too many finished ones! Ha!  I guess the positive to that is at least I have some things partially finished! Ha!

Last week I said I didn't take pics at the family reunion, but my cousin did!  I'm going to steal borrow my very favorite one she took!

This is my momma (seated), her younger sister, Lucetria (left) and her older sister, Stella (right).  These three women are by far some of the strongest, most loving women I have ever met!  I love them like they are my own momma!

Just wanted to brag a bit today!

Just a bit of advice for you mommas of elementary students.  If your teacher provided a list of school supplies, please stick to it as closely as possible!  There is a method to our madness when we make these supply lists!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Monday!

5 on Friday!

Hello, hello, hello!!  Kinda rare for a blog post from me on Friday, BUT it's another sleepless night for this girl, so I may as well be productive!

Here are my 5 on Friday!

1.  Anybody watch the new show Extant?  Still undecided, but intrigued enough to set it to record on the DVR!!!

 Extant

2.  Family:  Boo for the slacker!  Had an awesome time on the 4th at my Aunt Lucetria's cabin at the Lake where we had our annual family reunion.  The negativity toward this slacker - NO PICTURES!  I was horrible!!  Maybe someone else in the family who was on their game for the day will share???

3.  Sleeplessness:  What the HECK?!  I am going to HAVE to go back to school to get my body clock straightened out!  Ewwwww.....

Student's having Nightmares? People, quit dreaming about me!!! Haha!

4.  Phoebe:  It's very sad that I am talking about my Aimie's dog!  She is so rotten though, I can't help it!  She got a much needed haircut today from Aunt Dore, and also a workout.  Sweet thing was worn out on the drive home!

5.  People who wish for winter:  What are you thinking????  I mean, this girl is ALL about a snow day or two, or three, or four....well, you get the idea; BUT this weather has been awesome, not to mention the fact that the hubs and I get to spend time together outside AFTER he comes home from work, and usually AFTER supper!  Let's just enjoy this nice time we have now, and not wish our lives away!

... Summer Days... . Ferris wheel with the quote, Long live summer days

Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thursday: What I just finished reading and THE PUZZLE IS COMPLETED!

So, I'm going to start this post off with, THE PUZZLE IS COMPLETED!  Hallelujah, and I am so thankful!  My future DIL loves to do puzzles (where the heck has she been hiding that secret) and sat down one night just popping pieces in right and left.  Did I want to kill hug her neck till I squeezed the life out of her couldn't any longer, because she was so dang quick?  Well, of course I did! Ha!  Seriously, that girl is awesome with puzzles!  Anyhow, after the kids left, I had one of my "I can't sleep" nights (kind of like this one), so I worked on that puzzle until I finished it!  It is currently at Hobby Lobby being framed, for quite a bit of $$, but I deserve it cause it took a LONG time to do the stupid thing!  Here is a pic of the finished product (pre-framed):

And the quote from the future DIL when I sent her the pic of the finished product?  "Are you going to do another one?"  HECK NO!  That one was a "cross this off the old bucket list - finishing a 1000 piece puzzle"!  She, however, ordered another one from Amazon! Ha!

After I finished the puzzle, I needed something else to do when I had my "I can't sleep" nights, instead of being on the computer, so my daughter recommended a book series she just finished.  BTW:  she and my son take after their momma and LOVE to read - I consider that a WIN for me!  A plus, I think the future DIL loves to read too!  SCORE!!  This is our motto around here:

'One more chapter...' via northbrookpl #Illustration #Reading
The series she recommended begins with "The Maze Runner".  Kind of, sort of like "The Hunger Games" and the "Divergent" series in a twisted kind of way.  Haha!  That was a real attention grabber, huh?  It's futuristic, has some violence (depending on how vivid your imagination is), is coming out as a movie in the near future, and has NO FOUL LANGUAGE!!  I Know, right?!!  It's classified as Teen Fiction, but, hey, I'm a Teen times 3 plus some! Ha!  I am also still in the 6th grade, so it's still allowed!!   Anyway, read the book!  I'm on book 2 now, called "The Scorch Trials".  Started it tonight, about 2 hours ago, and am 1/4 of the way through.  Had to make myself stop!

There you have it!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Thursday, and hmm... I think I'll read just one more chapter!!  Haha!!

Disclaimer:  I wrote this at 3:00 am, so forgive me for the craziness! Ha!

What I Wore Wednesday!

Sorry folks, this will be a long one, but not as long as I thought it would be! Ha!  Here we go:

This is the first day of National Jr. Beta Convention.  It's typically cold in the auditorium (can't please thousands of people, go figure) so I chose to wear my favorite Buckle capris with my Advance Jr. Beta tee!  Rockin' the name tag!  Ha!  On my feet are my Bobs (generic Toms).  I was going to wear the crochet Toms, but the daughter happened to get them a tad muddy, and I don't know how to get them clean!  Boo!!!  Any help in this area would be appreciated!!!!

Day 2 of Convention.  I look like a dork here, but, Oh well, guess that's just the real me! Ha!  Wearing a green gingham button up with a white tank (I think - I can't remember, and this picture quality is really bad!), and my pink crops that I rolled to not look like I was just wearing pants that were too short!  Again with the Bobs (they were comfy and I knew we were going to be walking a LOT).

Day 3:  Sorry, this was an End of the Day Photo!  I forgot to take the pic before we left for our DC skip day!  Yes, we skipped convention to do some educational stuff.  Can't fight the History teacher in me!  Love this green linen top (gets really wrinkled though) with a pink tank and my white bermudas.  I really don't remember what shoes I wore, but I'm sure they were comfortable!

Back home!  Nope, haven't cleaned the mirror yet! Ha!  Wearing my boyfriend shorts from the Loft, with a pink tank that has lace on the collar.  Comfy, but cute and NOT a tee shirt!  Shoes?  Who needs 'em? Ha!  I really couldn't tell you which ones I wore!

Date night with the man!  I did end up buttoning the chambray shirt (made it look a LOT better), thought the yellow tank gave me some color, and my white bermudas!  The shoes are my favorite sandals!  They are OLD, but so comfy!

Photobombed by Phoebe! Ha!  That dog!  Here's my green linen shirt again with a pink tank and my boyfriend shorts.  Again, no shoes (they are the absolute LAST thing I put on before I leave).  I don't remember where I was going, but I obviously didn't flat iron my hair.

There you have it folks!  I know you guys have noticed the whole weight/no tan/cellulite look I'm rocking these days; however, I have lost a little bit of that weight, still no tan, but can't find a self tanner I like, and the cellulite, well, guess I will have to live with that one until I do something about it! Ha!
