What I Wore this Week!

This week has been a rough one!  I did accomplish some makeup every day, though!!  Since I have the old Breakfast duty, I have to be at school 15 minutes earlier.  Now, I know what you are thinking, 15 minutes is not a whole lot of time; however, for THIS girl, it is 15 more sleeping minutes!!!  Haha!

On to the week in review:

Thursday, April 24th

This was my last Thursday, totally nailed the Pinterest look post!  I still love the way I looked in this outfit!!  Check the link here to see where I got those great clothes!

Friday, April 25th:

As April is/was Autism Awareness Month, some of us teachers wore our Autism support shirts on jeans day!  These were special order from Workplace Pro they have LOTS of cute shirts and they are pretty reasonable.  The jeans are one of my favorite Buckle jeans.  I love how Buckle has started carrying the Curvy sizes!  The link is to a similar pair of mine.

Saturday/Sunday:  Boo Hiss!!  Had a migraine both days, and really didn't look presentable at all (even though I did go to Puxico to see momma and daddy)!

Monday, April 28th:

Felt a little better, so decided the way I dressed would hopefully influence the way I felt.  It did, kinda! Haha!  Necklace (similar), tank (similar), Cardigan (similar), navy pants,(got these at the GAP outlet in Branson, linked something similar) nude flats similar here.

Tuesday, April 29th:

Ranked pretty high on the cute-o-meter today!!  Even got approval from the daughter!!!  The only thing she didn't like was the necklace!  Oh well, guess I did the major stuff  right!  Chambray denim shirt  (similar) , yellow tank (similar) , ankle pants (similar), and khaki Toms.

Wednesday, April 30th:

Short Sleeve Tee from Target (on sale this week for $6), favorite khakis, Nike tennis shoes.  Simple, yet still professional looking!

I'm telling you, this Breakfast duty thing is about to get the best of me! Ha!  Thank goodness I only have it maybe twice or three times a year!

Happy Wednesday!  Thanks for joining!  Linking up with The Pleated Poppy.

Sharon

**On a side note, I want to let you all know that I typically do NOT spend a lot of $$ on my clothes.  1.  Look at the profession I'm in!  Not very profitable $$ wise, but oh, so rewarding some days!  2.  Look at the profession I'm in!  Even though I do teach 6th graders, they are still a wee bit on the messy side! Haha!  Clearance is my FAVORITE word!!!

Top Two Favorites Tuesday!!!

It's two-fer Tuesday!!  I am so excited about my favorites today!  Again, my favorites have absolutely nothing to do with food!!  Well, unless you count one of the rewards the kids get for a full card!!  Ha!

This favorite is one of my "teacher" favorites!  As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to improve student behavior, and encourage the kids to share their schoolwork/planner with their parents.  This has worked wonderfully this school year.

You can get these from Oriental Trading Company here

I have only a couple of things the students can do to receive a "star punch".  They receive one punch if their parent/grandparent signs their planner, and they receive one punch if they haven't received any "complaints" for the day!

The rewards for a full card are mostly free, sitting in the bungee chair for a day, sitting on the red stool at the podium, sitting at the extra teacher's desk, sitting on the rug with a friend, beanbag chair for a day, listening to music during work time, sitting in the comfy chair for the day, and the newest addition is that if the student will bring the money and give me their "order", I will drive to McDonalds and pick up their lunch for that day!

The most popular at first was the rug with the friend, then it moved to the bungee chair, then to the bean bag, comfy chair started gaining popularity, and now, the McDonald's thing! LOL!   I have had to limit the Mickey D's to a one day a week trip!  They are really working for that now!

RE Bungee Chair
Bungee Chair (only mine is all black)  Get yours at Target here

Favorite number two today deals with a subject that has been near and dear to my heart lately.  Advil Migraine!  I have had more headaches the past two weeks than enough!  Advil Migraine is the only thing that will help make them go away for a little while.  I know it's the lovely weather we have been having, and they will go away, so this is my favorite thing for a few more weeks!
Advil® Migraine
Hopefully you NEVER have to test my second favorite thing for today out, but if you do, go here and you will find $1.00 off coupon!

Happy Reading!  Thanks for stopping by!

Sharon

**Disclaimer:  I just really like Advil Migraine, and in no way am paid to endorse them or write a review for them.  This is strictly and solely my own opinion (for what it's worth)!

Linking up with a former student/current friend today for a Favorite Things Party

Today I'm going to link up with Erika over at her Favorite Things Party and share my new favorite thing!!  You will still, of course, get to see my Top Two on Tuesday!!  (insert smile here)

My favorite thing to share at this party happens to be a new scent I discovered at Bath and Body Works!  It's called London Tulips & Raspberry Tea, and it smells YUMMY!!  I get the travel sizes, to satisfy my addiction to B&B!  Haha!!  If you read my blog, you know I am severely addicted to B&B, so travel sizes satisfy that!  I happened to have a Free coupon for the travel size, but these are normally $5.

LONDON TULIPS & RASPBERRY TEA Shower Gel - Signature Collection - Bath & Body Works
This is from their new World Garden series!  B & B is currently having a Buy 3 get 3 free sale - OH THE TEMPTATION!!!

Thanks Erika for offering the Link up!!  Love ya kiddo!!
Happy Reading, and really, go try this scent!!

Thursday: I totally feel like I nailed this look!!

Even though it's Thursday, and I posted what I wore this week yesterday, I totally nailed a pinterest look today, so I couldn't wait until next week!  Now mind you, I don't go all the way with nailing these pins, but I do the main features!!  I felt so good today (not health-wise, but spirit - wise).

First, the Pin:

bright skinnies, striped boat neck top, neutral accents: cute outfit for spring or fall...

I found this and pinned it last night when I was bored out of my gourd (Criminal Minds was over).

Now here it is on me:

As you can see, I didn't do the scarf.  I have discovered that it has to be a pretty chilly day for me to wear a scarf, or I get too hot!  I also didn't do the watch, but I pretty much got this one nailed!!!  Shirt from JCPenney similar one here I went I have the crew neck version, but couldn't put my finger mouse on it! Haha!  The pants are from Dress Barn, as are the flats - nude, of course.  Couldn't find the exact pant, but here is something similar.  The nude flats are so very comfortable!!!  Couldn't find the exact shoes either!  Sorry!

Let me know what you think!  Did I nail this look, or what???

Happy Thursday!  Happy Reading, and thanks for stopping by!!

PS:  This outfit will reappear on next week's What I Wore!!!  I loved it!!

What I Wore this Week!

Well, I can tell you that most of this week, what I DIDN'T wear was make up!  I looked quite scary, and I really should apologize to anyone who saw me, or even who is going to look at these pics, but I'm not really sorry!  There's a myriad of reasons as to why I didn't wear any makeup, but the main one is because I didn't want to!  Sometimes I think my face needs to breathe, even if it knocks the breath out of you! Ha!  I know I appear to feel better when I do wear makeup, and I mostly look like this poor panda, but what's done is done and I will probably do it again!

Here we go with the clothes I put together this week!

Thursday, April 17th:

Jeans day!!  WooHoo!  Can you tell I really love jeans days?  I know, it doesn't look very professional, but I really think I can relate to the kids on a totally different level when I am dressed comfortably.  I also save these days for the messy fun lab days we have!!

Friday, April 18th:  Well, that was Good Friday, and happily sadly, I was in my pajamas for a good part of the day!  No pics that day!!!

Saturday, April 19th:  No pic today, either.  It was a yoga pants, tee shirt kind of day!

Sunday, April 20th:  You get a two-fer here!

This is my Easter Dress for this year!  I love the new minty green colors, as they make me feel so springy!!  I wore my nude wedges heels from Amazon here , the dress is from DressBarn here , and the shrug is one I bought several years ago, not sure from where, but here is a similar one - and it's even on sale!!
Here is the comfy outfit I changed into after church!  Yes, this is the striped shirt that I am not sure I should wear any more?! Got this one last year, and I'm not sure where.  Am thinking though, maybe if it were a 3/4 length sleeve??   Love these khaki shorts.  They are 4" and I think that is just the right length for a short petite, round curvy, person like myself!  I sometimes feel like the bermudas make me look even shorter!

Monday, April 21st, supposed to be "Good Monday":

Was wearing St. John's Bay black capri pants , with this coral shirt - similar one here.  I wore this green statement necklace - not sure I should have - but I did. Haha!   The really fun thing about this outfit was that my co-teacher had on coral pants and a black shirt!  We do that quite often without calling each other! Ha!

Tuesday, April 22nd:

Was wearing my Worthington black capri pants with a cute spring green button up shirt - similar here and a white tank underneath.  Have had these sandals for a couple of years, got them from who knows where, but here is a similar pair.

Wednesday, April 23rd:

Surprise!  It's the khakis again!  I LOVE THEM!  They are comfortable and allow me to breathe.  Don't know if I have linked these before, so I will link you again!  Khakis are Old Navy!  The v-necked tee shirt was just a black tee shirt that one of my former students sewed a mock pocket in orange chevron and put the AES monogram on it!  Love it!!  Wore my Nike tennis shoes with the khakis, can we say comfortable?

Thanks so much for visiting!  Happy Wednesday, and Happy NO MORE MAP testing this year!!!

Sharon

Linking up with The Pleated Poppy because she reminds me so much of myself! Hopefully, she doesn't take offense to that! Ha!

Top Two Tuesday!!!

Hello!!!  What a beautiful day we have had!  It was just one of those days where even if you felt like poo, you still had to smile!

Today is one of my Favorite Blog Days, because I get to share some of my favorites with you!  Usually, I'm all about food, last week was about feet!  Today, I have two totally random favorites!

First Favorite:  Old Navy Flips!!!  I love these shoes!  They are cheap enough that I can have one in every color, if Gary will let me I want!  I think, between Aimie and I, we do have one in every color!!  Ha!  It's awesome when you and your baby girl wear the same size shoe (or even close)!  I typically will buy 2 pair of white flips, so I can keep one looking very white! Ha!  Then when the very white one doesn't look so white, I go get another!

Women's Classic Flip-Flops

You can find them online here  They have flips for the whole family!  The best part, Old Navy is having a 15% off (excluding everyday steals and clearance).  Just enter Code ONSAVENOW at checkout!

Favorite number two is something you can buy in a store; however, this particular one is just one of God's blessings!  We have been hesitant to clear out this area of trees by our drive because of this particular tree.

This is the first year since we have lived here, that I can remember this tree blooming so beautifully at Easter!

Thanks for joining me today, and for reading along!  Hope you are as blessed this Tuesday as I feel I am!

Monday's Musings: Easter Weekend! LOVE!

Thankfully, my Easter weekend started Thursday at 5:30 (when I left school)!  I got all caught up and everything, ready for Monday (since we didn't get Good Monday off - Boo)!  This is really what I wish my desk looked like when I left:

But that isn't even close!!  It looked more like this:

messy-desk.jpg
No, really, it wasn't that bad! Haha!  I did have everything done, I just had "little stacks"!  So, I'm a stacker!  I know, it's not a good thing, and I'm not proud, but I do it.  Can't help that!

My Aimie baby came home later Thursday night, and then Friday, we SLEPT IN!!!  It was wonderful!!  I'm also a late sleeper, if I can, kinda person.

quote | Novel Ideas
Then, basically, all weekend, I did nothing.  Oh, I cleaned a little house, and did Aimie's laundry (I know, but she's my baby!!)  Then I did our laundry.

Saturday, we went to my sweet Mother-in-law's house to have a Simmers' Easter.  I so love that family that I married into!  I am very lucky to have each and every one of them!  Of course, we didn't think to take pics, but I will the next time we get together!!

Sunday, after church, we went to my momma and daddy's house to celebrate Easter with the Roach side!  Not everyone got to be there, but those of us that were, had a great time! I got to meet my great niece for the first time, and she was as sweet as all the pictures I have seen!!!  I'll have to do a family post on Friday with all the pics I have! But here's a sneak!

Aunt Sharon is going to get rid of this shirt! Haha!!!  She also needs a hair cut, the bangs are getting a little funky again!

Another sneak:  Gary and I Easter morning before church:

I sure do love this man!  Don't tell him I put this on here, he will say, "I told you not to do that!"  In 25 years I haven't listened to him yet!!  Why start now???

Thanks for reading, hope your Easter weekend was awesome, and Happy Monday!!!

Family Friday: Dedicated to this Glorious Holiday!

Good Friday.  What does that mean to you?  Some say a day off work.  Some say a day out of school.  I will have to say that I can tell you how I feel about this day, but I don't feel worthy to tell you, so here goes my version.

Good friday poster for desktop

Good Friday is the day we celebrate the Crucifixion of Jesus.  There is a song I typically sing at church around Easter - no, I didn't sing it this year, and may have to fix that when I go to clean my kitchen in a bit - called "Ten Thousand Angels".  I don't even remember where I first heard the song, but it touched me so much, I knew I had to add it to my small repertoire of songs to sing at church.  It was actually the first song I sang in front of the congregation at Bethel Church several years ago.  The version I have was made popular by LeeAnn Rimes.  I have learned a lot from the song itself, as I am not a very knowledgeable Bible person.  For instance, I didn't realize that God turned His head away, because He couldn't bear the sight of His son being crucified.  I cannot imagine, as a parent, or even as a child, making that sacrifice just to save others.  Many people take advantage of this gift given so selflessly, myself included.  I just ask that the Lord forgive me for all the times I took advantage.  I don't claim to be the best Christian, far from it; however, I do Love the Lord with all my heart, and truly believe I will be in Heaven one day!

Good Friday 2014
Here's praying and hoping you have a Blessed Easter Weekend.

"Ten Thousand Angels Cried"
Stillness filled the Heavens, on crucifixion day.
Some say it rained, I don't know if it's true.
Well, I can just imagine ten thousand angels cried
That would seem like rain to me and you.
The angels all stood ready to take Him from the tree
They waited for the words from His voice.
And when he asked the father why has thou forsaken me.
They watched the saviour die of his own choice.
I've never seen ten thousand angels cry
But I'm sure they did
As they stood by
And watched the saviour die.
God turned his head away
He couldn't bear the sight
It must have looked like rain
When ten thousand angels cried.
As the sun slipped away
The skies turned to grey
And when Jesus gave his all
That's when the tears began to fall
I've never seen ten thousand angels cry
But I'm sure they did
As they stood by
And watched the saviour die.
God turned his head away
He couldn't bear the sight
It must have looked like rain
When ten thousand angels cried.
It must have looked like rain
When ten thousand angels cried.

Thanks for stopping by!  To hear the song, go to You Tube and type in LeeAnn Rimes Ten Thousand Angels.

What I Wore Wednesday --- posted a day late! (so sorry)

I am so very sorry!  I'm a slacker, deadbeat blogger!  I was so very tired last night and I made some yummy, yummy taco soup for my hubs to take to the new plant for lunch for the guys, soooo, I just didn't get the post done.

So here goes my What I wore this week Wednesday Thursday!!!   I didn't do such a good job at cute this week, the one day I really felt good about what I wore, my picture was blurry!!  Grrr...  Oh well, next week is a whole new wardrobe, and follows a three day weekend of being mostly in my pajamas!!!

This was my Thursday outfit last week!  I love my khakis-and really should get another pair!  Also wore my staff shirt with the bling!  It's a make me feel sparkly kinda shirt!  Again, I have no idea what shoes I wore! Haha!!  Can you tell I don't put my shoes on until I leave this part of my house?

Friday is always jeans day for this girl!!!  At our school, we pay $25 a semester to a scholarship fund, and get to wear jeans every Friday!  These are my Buckle Capris with a cute blousy shirt that I really like.  It's one of those "hide the belly fat" shirts that are cute!  With my hair dark, I really like wearing red too!  Wearing my khaki Toms (they were in the closet)!!!

Saturday!  I am one of those people who loves to dress up to go out, but it doesn't bother me in the least to dress down to go get a pedicure, or even to make a Sams/Walmart run!  Wearing my comfy tshirt and stretchy yoga pants.  Wore flips that day since it was a pedi day!!!

This is the Monday outfit!  I really felt good in this outfit, but by the end of the FREEZING day, my feet were frozen!!  I have on my favorite red colored pants, my blue jean chambray shirt with a white tank underneath, and my favorite new (you've seen it before) statement necklace of daisys.  On the feet, were my favorite Buckle purchase several years ago, these fun sandals!

Tuesday, feeling kind of yuck since it had turned off a little cold again, so I wore my favorite khakis, and my striped JCPenney long sleeved shirt.  We started MAP testing today, so I wore my tennis shoes so I could walk around the room quietly while the kids tested.  I also had on another of my favorite new statement necklaces!

And finally, Wednesday!!  Jeans, you ask?  Why, yes!  Wednesday this week was our Friday (Thursday was payday and we don't lose a scholarship jeans day)!  Wore my shortest length Buckle jeans, with this cute little Buckle top I bought a couple of years ago.  It's another one of those belly fat hiders, as well as it makes my boobs look good too!!  Hey!  At 46 years of age, I like for my boobs to look good! Hahaha!!  The really funny thing, I told my partner in crime (the other 6th grade teacher) that this shirt made my boobs look good, and  Gary told me the same thing that evening when he got home!!

Next week, I promise to try to do better!  I want to do a Pinspired post one of these days, too!

I hope you have enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed doing it!!

Happy Thursday, missed you Wednesday, and tomorrow is GOOD FRIDAY!!

Tuesday's Top Two!! Here we goooooo!!!!

Top Two this week happen to have nothing to do with food!  I know, you are somewhat disappointed!  My top two favorites are all about the feet!

Favorite #1:  Pedicures!!  I love a great pedicure!  Usually I don't get them in the winter (even though that's probably a good time to get them), but in the summer time, I am THERE!  I love the pretty, bright polishes, and the pampering!  I could seriously get one EVERY SINGLE DAY!!  One day, when I'm rich, I will have to do just that!!  Hahaha!!!  Really, though, you all should feel special, cause my feet are not the prettiest, but I am sharing them with you!  The polish I chose this time is Strawberry Margarita by OPI!!  Linked you to it on Amazon!!

Favorite #2:  My NEW Cowboys' socks!!  Got them from my other Cowboys' fan Sis-in-Law!!!  She got me two pair, but this is the one I wore today!!  Since I couldn't wear sandals (I did yesterday and my feet froze!) I wore these socks with my Nike's. Love my 'Boys!!!!

There you go!  Short, sweet, and straight to the feet!!!  Bahaha!!  Feeling witty tonight!

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for Reading!!  May blessings from above, make you feel His Love!!

Teacher friends, thanks for those prayers!!  MAP testing day 1 = survived!!!!  Please keep them coming!!!

Monday's Musings: Postponed for a special "What's on my DVR?"

So, normally I do a Monday's Musings, however, I am just not in the right frame of mind to do a positive post on my musings, so, I've seen on other blogs that they are posting, "What's on my DVR?"  You can really learn a lot about people and what they have on their DVRs!  NOT!!!  I watch all kinds of things that one would normally think I wouldn't.  Get your minds out of the gutter!

no nasty red slash anti protest against statement

My DVR is full of very random shows!  When Gary used to travel, I had to have all these things on DVR to watch because, let's face it, I just couldn't sleep without that man beside me!  Here is a list:

Grey's Anatomy is a MUST!  I am going to have to watch the show from April 3rd, though.  We had storms, so nothing but weather was recorded.

Grey's Anatomy Grey's Anatomy - 7x18 - Song Beneath The Song ...
Even though this show seems to be on it's last seasons,  I still love it!  I was just as excited and shocked as April was when Jackson interrupted!!  Can't wait to see the rest of the season! On Thursday nights at 8:00 on ABC.

Parenthood is also a pretty big one on my list!  This was one of those, flipping through the channel, can't find anything to watch - oh here's one!  Again, it's moved to Thursdays, so I will need to catch up on the April 3rd show.  It comes on at 9:00 on Thursdays on NBC.

Parenthood Reminisces with 1948 Fervor Gem

Most of the time, this show depicts a lot of real life issues.  Max, one of the grands, has Aspergers, and it is amazing to watch him!  Ray Ramono joined the cast, and is an adult dealing with Aspergers.  Great Show!!!

Another Thursday favorite is, of course, Scandal!  I have watched from the beginning, and was hooked immediately!!  This season is pretty intense, and I don't want it to end!!!!  I also need to catch up on it, but just haven't had time!  Thursdays at 9:00 on ABC.

Du bist hier: Serienjunkies » Serien » Scandal

The whole business of the B16 unit is pretty intense.  I even got Gary to watch and he loved it!!!

Of course, I couldn't not have the DVR set for the Mentalist!  That one is a favorite in the whole house!  We have our laugh out loud moments with this show!

The Mentalist the mentalist

It doesn't hurt that Patrick isn't too bad to look at, either!! Hahaha!

Another one that has some nice eye candy story lines is Criminal Minds!  It gets pretty creepy at times, and I definitely couldn't watch when Gary was gone, cause then I would get scared, but I love it!!!  There are really some strange people in this world!!

Criminal Minds 8 da oggi in anteprima assoluta su Foxcrime

Talk about some hotties!!  Whew!  Shamar Moore (he was once on the Young and the Restless and was pretty hot then too!) is a terrific actor, as is Thomas Gibson!  I am so glad they quit trying to mold Penelope into the perfect agent. Haha!

Are you thinking?  What on Earth?  Does this girl ever do anything but watch TV???  Haha!  I really do.  There's lots of nights that I can't sleep, so I get to catch up then!  I was super excited to get the Genie thing from Direct TV because I can record MORE!!!

On the lighter side, I do record those "really, people do that?" shows.  SisterWives and My Five Wives are two of those.  I know, right?  But those shows are so fascinating!  I also like Little People, Big World and the Little Couple.  19 Kids and Counting are right up there, as well.  I have these DVR'd too.  Don't knock it, till you watch it!!!

1e756__sister-wives-300.jpg
Sister Wives (I'm not thinking polygamy - I don't share well!)

My Five Wives Is Just Like Sister Wives , But With A Bonus Wife

My Five Wives (At least Kody Brown is somewhat good looking, this guy - NOT!)

Little People, Big World: Matt & Amy Dating?

This one is amazing to me because of the fact that with the set of twins, one is a little person, and the other isn't!!!

The Little Couple:  Are their adopted children not adorable??  This story is amazing just because of the obstacles they overcome, and the fact that they are now one happy, little family!!!  LOVE IT!!!

Excited for all the neat things coming up for the Duggars!!  Jill is engaged, and Jessa is courting!  Sometimes I think, Oh wow!  Really?  I would love to be the fly on the wall to see if voices ever get angry??  That many people in one house?? HMMM.....

I could seriously go on, and on about TV shows.  Notice, I have no daytime soaps??!!  I can usually catch up on those in one or two snow days!!!  Haha!!

Thanks for stopping by and reading about my little world!  Happy Monday!

Sharon

PS for all my teacher friends, say a little prayer, we start MAP testing tomorrow!!!!
