Thunderstorm Thursday into Family Friday

Yesterday was absolutely stormy!!!  I happened to be down at Puxico with my momma (who also happens to be my family Friday topic).  I took her to one of her meetings (which I was voted in as a new member last night too - insert big smile here), and we had the most delicious meal provided by JKM.  JKM is a little shop that sells all kinds of crafty, cute items, as well as food!  We all know how I am a big food-a-holic! Ha!  Can you say YUMMY????!!!!!  We had Chicken Salad sandwiches on a crescent roll, with strawberry salad - and strawberry poppyseed dressing, ambrosia, veggie chips, and a peanut-butter cup brownie (I gained 5 lbs just looking at it!)  OMW - I wasn't even thinking about the incoming storm as I was eating, cause I felt like I had died and gone to heaven!!

I don't know if this is it, but it looks very similar.  Jennifer had already dished it out for us!  How can anything with Peanut Butter cups, cool whip, brownies, vanilla pudding, and chocolate chips NOT BE GOOD??

Anyway, I got Momma home, and headed to Advance, because my awful wonderful hubby told me I would be "ahead of the storm".  I was for the most part, BUT I was also IN the storm for part of the time.  I don't mind storms, most of the time, when I am IN the house, or even sitting on the PORCH; however, DRIVING in a CAR is not my ideal storm shelter! Ha!  I wasn't worried, though, because I had the BIG GUY upstairs riding along with me!  I knew this, cause my Momma's prayers seem to reach Him a LOT!!

Which, leads me into my Family Friday post!  Lucky you, we have a two-fer today!!!  My Family Friday post is about my sweet Momma!  This lady seems to have more faith than anyone I know.  She tells me quite often that she doesn't know what she would do without me, but I really don't know what I would do without her.  We are battling all these illnesses associated with growing older, and I know she gets quite frustrated.  It seems like she can't go a couple of weeks without having to go to the Dr.  I have seen my mother at her best, and I have seen her at her worst, and almost every imaginable way in between (I was often never in trouble as a kid!).

The older I get, the more appreciation I have for this woman!  I know God gives us the parents He believes we need, and I am so thankful to Him that He gave me mine!

Happy Friday and Happy Reading!

Sharon
