In the beginning.....

Really, not so much the beginning of the Empty Nest, more like the middle and half of the chicks returned.  Haha!  My empty nest started in August.  August 1, 2013 to be exact, when baby girl Aimie was taken to begin her college life at JeffCo. 

Michael had already flown the coop, returned once, and flew away again.  I was a sad little momma!  I wasn't sure what I would do with my time.  Aunt Dore solved that problem with the suggestion of adding this little furbaby to our family.  Gary and I were adamant that we would have no inside dogs, but after Aimie took one look (Feb. 2013), we caved.  She's just like having another toddler in the house.

As I said earlier, Michael had flown the coop once, returned, and flown the coop again, and now is back with us - with his sweet girlfriend in tow.  Ashley and Michael have been dating for a couple of years now, so she is just one of my kids.  One of these days, I'm sure we will make an announcement about a wedding, but I don't think any time soon.

This blog, for me, is just a way to capture memories, to share if I wish, or to hoard if not.  I've been inspired to have one, but will I keep it up?  Who knows?  Only time will tell.  I'm sure when my nest empties again, I'll have a lot more time on my hands!!
